MEDC4 Coaching Model®

Enhance Overall Leadership Competencies of an Organisation

MEDC4 COACHING MODEL

The MEDC4 Coaching Model is a unique process to enhance the overall leadership competencies of an organisation. This can be achieved by aligning the four quadrants and each dimension in each quadrant to the objective of the company.

QUADRANT 1 -MISSION-MINDED

  1. Leadership Dimension 1: Vision Mission And Values
  2. Leadership Dimension 2: Customer Services Excellence
  3. Leadership Dimension 3: How to Cast Culture

Leadership Dimension 1: Vision Mission And Values

Casting vision is one of the most important things a leader can do.

Whether you are leading a department or a big division in your business, or you are C-suite leaders, your employees want to know where they are heading and why they should follow your vision as a leader.

The clearer the vision, the greater the acceleration.

Over 45-60 minutes per sessions, and through either one on one coaching or a medium to large a workshop, you will discover powerful tools and principles on:

  • How to cast a compelling vision or a personal life philosophy
  • How to test your vision using the 4 C’s

  • How to communicate your vision (logically, emotionally, visually)

Leadership Dimension 2: Customer Service Excellence

Whether internal or external, every business has customers or clients whom they serve.

So why casting a compelling vision is so important to create a company of service excellence? Let’s be honest. Nearly every company seems to have a “vision” statement, which, in most cases, is mostly forgotten.

Without casting a vision, your employees and customers will not know why you are in business. They will not know why you exist as a business.

Whatever your vision is, whether it’s a new product or service,

the customer is at the heart of it.

Delivering world-class customer experience starts with clearly defining what excellent customer service looks like. This is often referred to as a customer service vision, and without it, you can’t give your employees clear direction to serve your customer.

Leadership Dimension 3: How to Cast Culture

Leadership and culture are two concepts that are intricately connected.

Leaders or manager may not be able to monitor everything, but it’s  their job to make sure there’s an organisational culture in place that assures that what happens on their watch is consistent with the vision and mission. Toxic-culture stands as a  major reason why organisations stay stuck in the past.

Organisation culture has a powerful effect on the performance and long-term effectiveness of organisations.

  1. Leadership Dimension 4: Priority Managment
  2. Leadership Dimension 5: Problem Solving
  3. Leadership Dimension 6:  Decision Making
  4. Leadership Dimension 7:  Balancing Work and Life
  5. Leadership Dimension 8:  Personal Integrity

Leadership Dimension 4: Priority  Management

Most executives and managers believe they don’t have enough time.

Yet we live in a century where the rise of technology has created efficiencies in our productivity that helped reduce the amount of time and effort it takes to do many of our tasks and jobs; giving us more time!

Then why are you still complaining you don’t have any time? We’ve all been granted a 24-hour day. Why do the highly efficient seem to get more out of their day than others, and yet both started and ended with the same amount of hours?

The issue is not whether we have enough time.  The real issue is how we manage our lives.

Effective leaders don’t manage time, they manage their priorities.

Priority Management is the secret to best business practice and is an effective tool that yields the highest return on productivity with little output. As an executive, to understand the art of priority management is a vital tool for business efficiency or in life general. In business, you have financial, sales and operational systems, why don’t you have a system to monitor priorities?

  • How to manage your priorities by  using the “Urgent matrix tool?”

Leadership Dimension 5: Problem Solving

Problem-solving and critical thinking are defined as the ability to use facts, knowledge, data and above all, intuition to successfully solve problems.

How would your life or workplace change, if you had the ability to develop a well thought out solution within a reasonable time frame?

Problem-solving by ourselves is challenging. But, working together on a team may be even more challenging. One bad attitude or large ego can derail the problem-solving process. But once you know how to overcome all the common challenges you can develop into a high-performance team.

When faced with a decision to make, I consider 40-60 percent of the facts.  The rest I rely on my intuition.

– Colin Powell

Leadership Dimension 6:  Decision Making

Effective decision making is a blend between inspiration and blockages.

By helping a client get new perspectives and understanding of what inspires and blocks them in making a decision – or goal setting can be achieved by helping them explore the ecology of a goal or decision.  This involves tactfully delving beyond the conscious and into the subconscious mind to explore underlying thoughts and beliefs related to their goal.

Leadership Dimension 7:  Balancing Work and Life

Success means having those closest to me love and respect me the most.

In today’s busy world, prioritising between your work and your personal life is a huge challenge. Studies are showing that a poor work-life balance can result in unhealthy levels of stress, unhappiness, broken families and even reduced productivity.

For most of us, walking from the bedroom to the kitchen or from the car to the office door, we don’t think much about staying balanced or avoiding a fall. We tend to live thoughtlessly.

But have you ever tried to walk on a log across a creek? Or the length of a gymnastics balance beam? Suddenly falling becomes a real possibility. When that happens, our minds focus on balance. We think through every step and continuously make minor adjustments to stay upright

Knowing what to focus on, and when, establishes the balance you need to be successful and still keep your sanity. – John Maxwell

Balancing work and our personal lives tend to be more like walking on a log across a creek, than a sidewalk. It requires intentional focus and concentration. Something we all know deep down there. But quickly forget, and approach it unintentionally, which is a recipe for disaster and damage to what’s most important to us

  • How to restore balance, keep you focused, and avoiding the pitfalls in your work and personal life?

Leadership Dimension 8: Personal Integrity

Resolving to embrace a lifestyle of integrity is a decision that will affect all aspects of your daily pursuits, (Personal, Business and family.)

Leadership integrity starts with the desire to take a self-inventory to discover needs you’re not currently fulfilling in your life and then deciding to take actions to change this.

Everything rises and falls on leadership, and leadership raises and falls on integrity.

What if you could learn strategies on how to remain true to your values and discover principles on how to create an ethical workplace?

Build on your strengths and make your weaknesses irrelevant!

Conventional business practices, we were usually forced to focus on correcting our weaknesses to succeed. But gradually there is a consensus that it is much more effective to focus on taking full advantage of your strengths than investing scarce resources in correcting weaknesses.

When we focus on our weakness we become average at our strengths”

– Dr Shan Thumbran

So what do I mean by “strengths?”

Strengths are natural abilities that we are born with, and when developed brings our the genius inside each of us.By ‘strength’ I am referring to a set of remarkable features and activities that a person performs well.  Strengths draw us towards activities that we are attracted to, that we want to do. They make the desire for us to do them much greater than our anxiety or fear of failure. They make us excellent executors, usually better than the average person.
When we work in our strengths zone, we tend to concentrate and lose track of time. We feel energised, confident, in charge even though physically it could make us feel exhausted.

On the other hand, we understand weaknesses as activities that:

We dislike, they make us generate negative emotions. We would prefer to finish them quickly or even avoid them if possible. They make us feel mentally exhausted.  How many people have dedicated their lives to something they dislike?
